The majority will make fantastic family pets, but most of them do not have the temperament needed to work day after day with a police officer or in search and rescue. All dogs adopted through Malinois rescue will be spayed or neutered prior to placement. The Most Versatile Belgian Malinois Award (MVBMA) and Reserve Most Versatile Belgian Malinois Award (RMVBMA) are given to Belgian Malinois at the National Specialty that excel and qualify in at least three different venues. There is no fee for entering the Most Versatile Malinois award and membership in the ABMC is not required. Welcome to the 2025 ABMC National Specialty. This year we will be returning to beautiful Purina Farms in Grey Summit, Missouri. Hosting this event at Purina Farms allows us to offer the following events at one easily accessible facility: Conformation, Tracking, Agility Last month (October, 2021), a new standard for the Belgian Malinois became effective. Most of the standard remains unchanged, but as far as we can tell, new additions and/or edits serve to expand a judge or breeder’s understanding of the ideal Malinois. The section on general appearance, for example, includes two new sentences. The American Belgian Malinois Club will award at its National Specialty a three point major to Reserve Winners Bitch if the Regular Class Bitch entry is twice the required number for a five point major in the division where the National Specialty is held.
