Gabapentin has been a life saver for me while withdrawing off different things at different times - heroin, amphetamines, alcohol, prescription opiates and benzos. It will make withdrawal much tolerable, however the biggest predictor of seizures or strokes from Benz withdrawal is going to be your blood pressure. I previously was on 1800mg/day (6 pills total) and I weaned myself off over the course of a few weeks. Every 2-3 days I would take away 1/2 of one pill. Doing that I really had very few withdrawal symptoms. You can get some benzos from your doctor which can help for the first few days but going cold turkey is not a great idea It helps a ton with a lot of the shitty parts of benzo withdrawal but won’t completely take the withdrawal away. At high doses of gabapentin you might not even be able to tell you’re in withdrawal anymore but be careful I’ve had high doses induce a seizure while in withdrawal.
