It feels a bit strong to me but I can function normally and I do feel less anxious so far but a little weird. Can’t really explain it maybe a bit disassociated and giddy? Should I take it as prescribed (100mg 2x a day) or as a PRN? I love gabapentin, but if you have severe nerve pain or restless legs I would recommend Lyrica (pregabalin). Pregabalin is about 3x stronger than gabapentin. Contrary to most comments on this, I love it. It would relax my mind and ease my anxiety. It helped me sleep so much better. In all honesty, it’s all about the right dose. Edit: i was able to quit gabapentin by getting on lexapro to manage my mental health issues that were there before gabapentin. These issues, anxiety and depression, were treated bluntly by gabapentin use and abuse, so cessation of gabapentin led to them returning with vengance. It does have a little recreational value and lots of therapeutic value. It works best if taken in small doses spaced out over time, say 150-300mg every 30-45 minutes, as to prevent the transporters in your digestive system from becoming supersaturated. Gabapentin helps manage shingles-related pain by changing the way you sense the ache. As an anticonvulsant drug for seizures, gabapentin decreases any unusual excitement within the brain that Gabapentin is used to help control partial seizures (convulsions) in the treatment of epilepsy. This medicine cannot cure epilepsy and will only work to control seizures for as long as you continue to take it. Gabapentin is also used to manage a condition called postherpetic neuralgia, which is pain that occurs after shingles. I’ve always found it helpful to ask patients with chronic pain if they notice a significant decrease in their pain after they’ve had a few beers or smoked a joint. So I'm planning on taking 900mg of Gabapentin right now but was wondering if it's safe. I drank 2 shots of vodka about 7 hours ago and feel completlely sober now. When I do use my gabapentin for recreation, I split my 800mgs in half and take 400 every 15 minutes. It seems to work pretty well. I've taken well over 4000mg. HOW TO PROPERLY USE GABAPENTIN: Drink each down with a decent amount of fizzy soda. The acidity helps it absorb in the stomach. Trust me. Do this. Once you've taken the last pill, have a nice meal. This drastically aids your body's absorption. I’ve struggled with anxiety for over 7 years. Tried many SSRI’s and SNRI’s and buspar. Minimal help. Supplemented with klonopin (posted this recently as a topic). I just started using 300 mg gabapentin (100 mg in morning and 200 mg) in evening). Seems to be helping. Anyone else using it?
