When I looked up common side effects of these two drugs, I found that my reaction was not on the list, nor was myalgia (the medical term for my muscle cramping) on the rare side effects list. Gabapentin can lead to suicidal thoughts and since I’ve stopped taking it I haven’t had them. Definitely reach out to your doctor to come up with a tapering off plan if you haven’t already! I don’t have any sided effects, I started 100 mg and worked up to the best therapeutic dose that helps my nerve pain. I have small fiber neuropathy, no side effects that I can feel. The maximum lifespan of gabapentin in the body is 8hrs so it sounds like you either processed it very quickly or had a rare side effect happen. You should call the prescribing doctor and let them know it made the burning sensation spread and amplify. Gabapentin is fairly safe when you use it correctly. If these medications help you, I am incredibly Ya, although gabapentin did help me for pain the eerie side effects of it I just couldn’t take. -It got worse the longer I took it & ended up being pretty scary towards the end & tapering off it. Pregabalin (brand name Lyrica) helped much more to relieve pain & does not have those icky side effects. Same class drug though (anticonvulsants).
