I have been taking gabapentin for about 3 months- I was given a script for 100mg x 3/day. I took it as prescribed for a few days and couldn’t tolerate the drowsiness. I got switched to the liquid version and started taking 50mg x3. That has really helped- if the anxiety increases I take 100mg and it works great most of the time. As someone who's wrangled with depression as well and have had gabapentin (1800mg/day was where I maxed out), I didn't have any issues with any exacerbation of depression, no real side effects I can really attribute to the gabapentin itself (after all, it's hard to tell if I'm slow on a given day because of the medication, or because it's just I’ve been taking Gabapentin 300 mg/3x/day for the last 30 days and it’s seemed to help with my post surgery sciatic pain. I tried Gabapentin for my chronic daily migraines. And I like to share it with you. This might be helpful. Gabapentin is not approved for migraine but many doctors prescribe it off label for migraine I started taking 300 mg once, first day. Side effects were : dizziness, drowsiness, feeling of being high and fatigue. I also had blurred vision which was horrible! It was like I wasn It becomes a very nice opiate without the side effects and addiction. HOW TO PROPERLY USE GABAPENTIN: Assuming 300mg per pill, take one pill every thirty minutes, a total of three pills (taking more will make it weaker, see below) Drink each down with a decent amount of fizzy soda. The acidity helps it absorb in the stomach. Trust me. Do this. Give Gabapentin a go, hopefully it helps. If you end up getting unwanted side effects then you can always try Pregabalin instead. It does the same job, see what works for you. I tried Gabapentin but it didn't work that well for me, so I was switched to Pregabalin instead. But as I said, just try and see. It should work! I have been on gabapentin 600 mg @2 pills 3x per day for over 10 years now. Yeah the fatigue and most of the other side effects will subside within a week or two with each bump up in dose. Gabapentin side effects? Has anybody given their dogs gabapentin before? Dog can't move anymore My dog was prescribed gabapentin for pain-relief. He has IVDD and kidney disease. My dog is 14lbs and was prescribed 100mg every 12hrs. Is this a reasonable dosage? After taking the medication, he does not seem to be able to move anymore. I have been trying this medication for pain, but so far haven't had any pain relief- only horrible side effects.
